AFC: Call for applications: Rackless Kazi DJ Residency Zambia


Zambian NGO Modzi Arts is calling on female DJs to apply for a residency programme in Lusaka from 3 to 8 December.


Modzi Arts is working in partnership with the British Council on the residency.
The Rackless Kazi DJ Residency programme is supported by the National Arts Council of Zambia, Power FM and Shreeji Investments. The residency is intended for DJs, performers, electronic music producers and sound engineers, all of whom will receive mentorship from DJs and programmers from South Africa, Namibia, Zambia and the UK.
The residency will feature masterclasses, presentations, artist talks, interactive sessions and performances. Interested artists should apply here.
The application deadline is 27 November.
Requirements
Applicants must:
  • Be emerging or mid-career creatives within the music sector.
  • Be an electronic club or radio DJ, performer, music producer, sound engineer and singer.
  • Be between 18 to 35 years of age and females only.
  • Demonstrate commitment for six days.
  • Be currently working in the electronic music industry.
  • Have a minimum of one year experience in the electronic music field.
  • Modzi Arts accepts applicants from around the SADC region, with particular attention paid to applicants from Zambia.
Applicants should further:
  • Agree that their names and information pertaining to their professional profile may be used for Modzi Arts, Rackless Kazi promotional, marketing and reporting purposes.
  • Ensure their availability and commitment to participate in an intensive residency scheduled from 3 to 8 December in Lusaka.
  • Ensure they organise own accommodation and travel expenses, if from outside Lusaka.
  • Ensure they are able to obtain a visa, where necessary, to enter Zambia in time for the commencement of the residency and for its full duration.
