Here are 10  Biggest Mosques in Africa:
1.Hassan II Mosque, Casablanca, Morocco
It was built in 1993 and  covers about 970,000 sq feet, making it the largest mosque in Africa. It can accommodate more than 100,000 worshipers.

2 Conakry Grand Mosque  Guinea
Built in 1982, this grand mosque definitely lives up to its name. It is regarded to as the 4th largest mosque in Africa and the largest in Sub-Saharan Africa. Within its walls and premises, the mosque could accommodate more 22,000 worshipers. The mosque also incorporates a Camayanne Mausoleum which houses some prominent citizens like Samure Ture and Sékou Turé amongst others.

 3.Al-Azhar Mosque, Cairo Egypt
It was built in the prehistoric times and it  covers about 85,000 sq ft with a capacity of up to 20,000 people.

4.Ghaddafi National Mosque, Kampala Uganda
Relatively new in comparison to the others, this religious edifice located on the Kampala Hill was completed in 2006. In fact, it was commissioned by the former  Libyan president Muammar Ghaddafi as a gift  . It is now referred to as the Ugandan National Mosque and can sit up to 15,000 worshipers.

 5.Emir Abdelkader Mosque, Constantine Algeria
It’s located in Algeria and was built in 1994.It’s  known  for its pristine Architectural design and can host up to 15,000 worshipers.

6.Mosque of Islamic Solidarity Somalia
The Mosque of Islamic Solidarity was constructed in 1987 and is the single largest masjid in the Horn of Africa. It is capable of accommodating up to 10,000 worshippers. The masjid also overlooks the Indian Ocean.

 7. Grande Mosquée Massalikoul Djinane Senegal

The largest mosque in the country with 10.000 m2.A Dome over 28 feet high. .Reception Capacity is one of the bigest holding 9,000 worshipers.

8.Juma Masjid Mosque, Durban South Africa
Dating back to 1881, the mosque is one of the oldest and the largest in South Africa.It can accommodate  up to 6,000 worshipers.

 9.Al-Nilin Mosque in Sudan
It's located on the western banks of the river Nile just opposite the confluence of the two niles and was built in the 1970s during the Nimeiry era of Sudan.

10.Great mosque of Djenńe in Mali
This mosque was built in the 13 th century and the current structure dates back to 1907.It's one of the most famous landmarks in Africa.
